A Great Big Thank You!!!
51 Orton Squadron would like to thank the Peterborough general public for their generosity and support last Saturday at our bag pack at Sainsbury’s Bretton.
It is, as always, a pleasure to meet so many new people and to hear their stories, which are always interesting. From the gentleman who was involved in the building and flying of some of the very first Harriers, to the lady whose son is fighting in Afghanistan currently, of which we wish him a safe return. Then there are the children who are always eager to drop money in the buckets and receive their future pilot stickers.
We were made to feel very welcome by the staff and we would like to thank Dawn and her team for supporting our events each year. As usual we were not only raising money for our own squadron but also for Help for Heroes of wish we will be presenting them with a cheque later this year, watch out on our website for the grand total!
We are already planning for next year; having booked several bag packs, however we will be changing our things slightly. At each event we will be supporting a different charity next year and if you have any suggestions please do contact us on the details below.
I can only once again say a Big Thank You for helping our cadets achieve so much during 2011.
