Corporal Gabby Eason-Edge and Cadet Kieran Robinett were taken aback with the latest promotions at 51 (Orton) Squadron. Whilst on final parade Corporal Gabby Eason-Edge had the pleasant surprise of being promoted to the rank of Sergeant by Wing Staff Officer Squadron Leader Rob Bradshaw. Sergeant Eason-Edge has shown continued commitment to the squadron and the ATC as a whole, not only for her own development but also for the development and support of other cadets. Sergeant Eason-Edge said, "I am happy to receive the promotion, and am now keen to development my role in the squadron as a Sergeant".
This promotion left a vacancy in the NCO team, and it was to the total amazement of Cadet Kieran Robinett that he was called upon to fill this role. Corporal Robinett, accepted his promotion from Squadron Leader Rob Bradshaw with pride and later said "I was not expecting the promotion, however I am honoured to have been consider to have the necessary ability to fill this role. I am now looking forward to working with the NCO team and helping the other cadets whilst also still learning myself." Corporal Robinett joined 51 (Orton) Squadron 2 years ago, and has been a full active member ever since, from joining the squadron drum corps to taking part in athletics and is often seen helping Flight Sergeant Smith and his team in the Field Kitchen.
